When everyone else turned me away, I found the YMCA. They have made me a better person inside and out.

Teddy, a single father, and his 6 year-old daughter Shannon were alone and struggling badly, with no financial or emotional support.

Through community-based resources at the Y’s Bayshore Family Success Center and the commitment of Krysten, a caring Y employee, a father and daughter on the brink of homelessness now have hope for a brighter future, and access to a nurturing community.

The Y is more than a gym. We’re here for all, every day, with programs that encourage healthy families, connect people to supportive resources, give kids confidence and a voice in our community, and inspire social good. But we can’t do this alone. Learn more about the Y’s Annual Community Support Campaign, the community we serve, and why we fundraise. Follow our social campaign at #YBeAHero.
