At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. We believe that acting together with our community, we can make a better world. We are committed to working with and providing support to our neighbors. We also are committed to providing opportunities for kids, adults and families to become healthier together.
We’re Stronger Together
In response to the burden on individuals and families in Monmouth County by the recent partial government shutdown, The Community YMCA and YMCA of Western Monmouth County will offer stress relief to current federal government employees and their families with free access to Y branches and modified childcare payments for the duration of the shutdown.
While the Y is pleased the government has reopened, we recognize that many individuals and families have faced financial hardship. The Y will continue to offer relief to those who were furloughed through the end of February, 2019.
Current federal government employees should visit the Welcome Center or Membership Department at the Red Bank Family YMCA, Freehold YMCA or Old Bridge YMCA, and show proof of employment and a valid photo ID. Participants of this program will have access to the same membership benefits as current Y members. For existing Y members who are impacted, we will waive your month of dues. The Y will also waive the joiner’s fee for participants of this program at the end of this program.
Affected families who participate in YMCA before and after care, and preschool in Matawan, and YMCA childcare programs in Freehold may inquire about modified payment arrangements to ensure continued access to childcare support in a safe, supervised environment without disruption to the family routine.

The Y is for everyone. Our programs, services and initiatives enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college, offer ways for families to live healthy together, empower people in spirit, mind and body, prepare people for employment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster a nationwide service ethic.
