Red Bank 5K To Benefit The Community YMCA and Red Bank Recreation
The Red Bank Business Alliance and Red Bank RiverCenter are partnering to bring back a community run to downtown Red Bank this summer that will benefit two local organizations that help young people thrive. The first ever Red Bank Classic 5K event will take place Saturday, June 16, 2018 with runners lining up at 8:30 a.m. in the heart of Red Bank for a 3.1 mile run through downtown and surrounding borough neighborhoods.
The family-friendly event includes the Kids Broad Street Dash, a fun run for children 12 and under that will begin after the 5K. It will feature three races: 200 yards, 100 yards and 50 yards. Children will run in heats on Broad Street finishing at the same spot as participants in the 5K.
Other activities include a pre-race warm-up at Marine Park, hosted by Pure Barre Red Bank and the Y, while post-race activities will include Stand Up Paddle Board and SUP Yoga with Flow Paddle Yoga, Mat Pilates with Renaissance the Studio, massage tables and stretching station by A Kneaded Vacation+ and children’s activities coordinated by the Y. An after-party will take place at Red Rock Tap + Grill.
Proceeds from the event will support both the borough’s Department of Parks and Recreation and The Community YMCA.
Race registration and sponsorships may be purchased online at www.redbankclassic.com. Race packets may be picked up on Friday, June 15, 4-7 p.m. at Red Rock Tap + Grill.
