The Community YMCA Swim Team Wins National Championship

The Community YMCA’s Aquarockets swim team captured the national title for the second year in a row at the 2019 YMCA Long Course National Championship at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.
Both the men’s and women’s team took first place overall, while Head Coach Jack Caucino of Point Pleasant was honored as Coach of the Meet at the national swimming event, which took place July 30-Aug. 3.

The Community YMCA and YMCA of Western Monmouth County will celebrate coming together as the newly united YMCA of Greater Monmouth County and honor influential community leaders at their Stronger Together Gala on Friday, Sept. 27, 6-11 p.m., at The Addison Park in Aberdeen.

The Community YMCA and YMCA of Western Monmouth County to Merge

The Community YMCA and YMCA of Western Monmouth County announced today that effective Sept. 1, 2019 they will join together as one YMCA association to strengthen individuals, families and communities throughout greater Monmouth County.  Collectively, the YMCAs will serve over 36,000 members and participants, employ more than 1,200 people and engage approximately 650 volunteers with an annual operating budget of $25 million, which will make the new association the second largest YMCA in New Jersey.

Healthy U Symposium Celebrates 10 Years of Impact

YMCA Offers Program to Help Prevent Diabetes

The Y’s Diabetes Prevention Program provides assistance for those at risk to learn about eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing weight to reduce their chance of developing the disease. The program is led by a trained Lifestyle Coach in a classroom setting, over a 12-month period. It begins with 16 weekly sessions, followed by meetings once a month. The next session begins Sept. 24 and is free to Medicaid recipients.
