At the Y, a supportive community is a big part of wellness. No matter what your age or level of experience, you’ll find people just like you looking to live healthier.
Ages 14 and over
As you continue on your journey to a healthier lifestyle, you may choose to have a Wellness Orientation. A member of the Wellness Team will develop a safe and effective Wellness Plan, and make recommendations to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. Orientations can be scheduled at the Welcome Center or by calling 732.741.2504, ext. 210.
Participants must fill out a health history form, which can be found at the Welcome Center.
The Y offers a variety of group fitness classes that are fun, motivating and challenging ways to fit exercise into your daily routine. Classes include indoor cycling, yoga, Pilates, aqua classes and Zumba®. Classes are free to all members of the Y, ages 14 and over. Members 14 – 17 are allowed to participate in classes during teen hours. Class space is limited, so please sign up prior to attending class. Sign-up sheets are available in designated areas on the day of the class. Schedules of all classes are available at the Welcome Center and online.
If you are in need of some motivation or need to fine-tune your workout routine, our Personal Training Program may be the answer. Training sessions focus on teaching the fundamentals of proper exercise and the correct use of equipment. Personal training is also available for our teen members who wish to improve their athletic/sports performance or just get in shape. Each session lasts one hour. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy on personal training sessions. Services will be
charged if an appointment is not cancelled 24 hours in advance.

The Diabetes Prevention Program provides a supportive environment where you can work with others in a small group setting to learn how to adopt healthy habits and reduce your chances of developing Type 2 diabetes.
The program is led by a trained Lifestyle Coach in a classroom setting, over a 12-month period. It begins with 16 weekly sessions, followed by meetings once a month. Discussions will center around strategies for eating healthier, increasing physical activity and making other changes to improve overall health and well-being.

This program may be covered by your health insurance carrier, and is now free to Medicaid participants. If you have private health insurance, check with your employer if this program is a covered benefit, or contact the Diabetes Prevention and Control Alliance to confirm eligibility at 800.237.4942.
You do not need to be a member of The Community YMCA in order to participate.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free twelve-week, small group exercise program designed for cancer survivors 18 years and older wanting to regain health as they have become de-conditioned and fatigued from treatment. Program participants must receive medical clearance to participate.

Pedaling Through Parkinson’s Disease
Join the Y for improved well-being after Parkinson’s diagnosis. Free for Y Members, Pedaling For Parkinson’s helps PD patients develop and maintain healthy lifestyles through fitness, education and wellness activities in a group setting.
