Happy child in a swimming poolSafety Around Water is a week-long water safety program for our friends and neighbors in the community. This program is offered annually to first time participants who have little or no swimming ability. The course introduces the aquatic environment to beginners, teaches basic learn-to-swim skills and increases water safety awareness for families. Our goal is to make everyone feel safe and comfortable in and around the water.

Registration must be done in person. Space is limited and all registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Y members who have not participated in a YMCA swim program/or who have had a child(ren) in our swim program will be placed on a waiting list—and will be registered only if classes don’t fill to maximum student/instructor ratios.

Our next Safety Around Water program will run Monday June 19 – Friday, June 23, 2017.

Registration begins Friday, April 14, 2017.
